A newly established Colorado based company, WittyCuisiner opened its new account at Pinterest to share images of kitchen related items with its followers. Pinterest is one of the most growing social nestworks with nearly 49 million users.
According to Wikipidia, "Pinterest is a pinboard-style photo-sharing website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests, and hobbies. Users can browse other pinboards for images, ‘re-pin' images to their own pinboards, or ‘like' photos."
The company's spokesperson, Evelyn Stewart, talks about this new social platform, "Pinterest is really great for business like our company, which sells physical products such as stainless steel measuring spoons. Unlike other social network sites, the whole site is image based and lots of people look for images of various items which they are ready to purchase."
Stewart further continues, "According to statistics, the product images with a price tag receive nearly 40 percent more ‘likes', and almost 70% of the account holders found items to buy. 8 out of 10 users are women, and we all know they love to shop. Pinterest provides a new online shopping environment and we believe the trend will continue."
WittyCuisiner adds images to Pinterest daily, all of which are related to foods, cooking, baking and kitchen. It created 8 different boards including ‘Cool Kitchen Tools', ‘Fruits', Foods', ‘Wine', ‘Dessert', ‘Spicy' and ‘Italian Food'.
Each image can be enlarged by clicking it and most of the images include the company's logo or link to its other pages such as web page, Facebook post, Twitter post or press release pages. One of the images shows several spotted banana. Underneath the image, there is a comment, "Do you like spotted bananas or green ones?"
There is a link to the company's Facebook page between the image and the comment. The spokesperson explains, "I like to connect our different social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus as well as Pinterest so that the users can get more contents from us and get to know more about our company."
