(Food-Beverage-News.Com, May 28, 2015 ) Foley, Alabama -- The Green Festival Expo will be celebrated on June 5 to 7, 2015 at DC Convention Center, New York. This marks the 11th Green Festival held in the city. On Day 1 (Friday), celebration starts 12 noon until 6 pm. On Day 2 (Saturday), it will start 10 am and will be closed by 6 pm. On the third day (Sunday), program starts by 10 in the morning up to 5 in the afternoon. Those attendees in bikes can present their helmet directly to the box office attendants, and receive free admission. Kids 16 years old and under are free of admission as well.
Washington, DC conducted this festival to earn public involvement related to environmental policies. The festival will also be featuring some of the most advanced organic building laws in the country. During its first year, the Sustainable D.C. Program planted 9,280 trees, established 62 new community organic garden plots in 5 wards and organized 11 schools with pilot or short term programs.
The festival will be featuring food vendors, speakers, and organic foods. The main focus of the organizers this year is to bring together the innovative brands, national and local organic firms, pioneering free thinkers, and conscious organic consumers to promote sustainable and green lifestyle. Heirloom products and other Non-GMO food will also be exhibited on the event. Victory Gardens is another organic group in the US that support Heirloom seeds.
The festival will also have a growing network of sponsors and partners on the area that include Rudy's Organic Bakery, Daiya, Ford, Broccoli City, Clif Bar, Downtown DC BID, Sustainable DC, Fashion Fights Poverty, Mom's Organic Market, FreshFarm Markets, Embrace Yoga, Busboys & Poets, Hope Foods, Holistic Moms Network, Natural Zing, Washington Humane Society, Shea Terra Organics, Natural Awakenings DC, Organic Spa Magazine, Mother Jones, Yoga Journal, Greenopia, Democracy Now!, The Nation, The American Prospect, Vegetarian Times, and many more. Participants will be given the chance to experience vegan, vegetarian, organic foods, hands-on demos, educational activities and inspirational speakers.
