Extreme Body Workout and Tony Horton's P90X Balance Extreme Workouts with Healthy Eating

(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 28, 2009 ) New York, NY – August 18, 2009 – Most consumers know that a healthy diet consists of eating more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein while eating less saturated fat and processed foods. However, in an effort to lose weight some consumers lose sight of their caloric needs. They cut calories lower and lower, while increasing the duration or intensity of their workout program. This can ultimately result in someone giving up on their weight loss plan. Extreme Body Workout and Tony Horton's P90X home fitness program address the problem by combining the extreme workouts with a three-tier nutrition plan that can be adapted to any user's needs.

“Sometimes people cut calories too much," says Nina Bertolino, President of Extreme Body Workout. “They think it's going to help them lose more weight, and that might be true initially. But when combined with an extreme fitness program it can mean getting too few calories to provide the energy needed for the workouts. They feel zapped and unable to continue with the intense routines, which increases the likelihood that they'll quit prematurely."

To help consumers evaluate their own personal nutrition needs while using the P90X system, the program includes the P90X nutrition program. The P90X nutrition guide is broken into three phrases, targeted to users with different caloric needs -- at levels of 1800, 2400, and 3000 calories per day.

"The calorie levels covered by the P90X nutrition program might sound high to the average consumer," says Bertolino. "But to reap the benefits of an extreme home fitness program like P90X, and to build lean muscle mass, higher calorie levels don't necessarily mean less weight loss."

For customers who don't know their caloric needs, the P90X nutrition guide walks them through the calculations. Then the guide offers a list of recommended foods, daily meals, and recipes. It was developed by author and nutrition expert Carrie Wiatt. In addition to the P90X nutrition guide, the Extreme Body Workout blog offers additional healthy eating tips for users of the P90X fitness program including recipes, grocery shopping lists, and details about P90X nutritional supplements. The nutrition guide comes with the purchase of the P90X training system, which retails for $119.85.
