“You do not have to make do with the fatty, high-calorie variants. Opt for burgers made of grilled Portobello mushroom or veggie patties. If you must insist on beef, choose leaner cuts. Otherwise, get lamb, buffalo, or turkey,” K. Chatman advised.
He also recommended adding vegetables such as tomato, lettuce, cucumber, and spinach to these burgers.
“Go easy on the condiments. Select low- to non-fat mayo. Ketchup and mustard are okay as well,” he said.
“Nonetheless, for the summer season, spice up your foods with healthy produce and low- or no carbohydrate-filled beverages,” Chatman concluded.
