The study is reportedly small, and is only preliminary, but it has researchers excited of the possibilities. The study was funded by Applied Foods of Austin, Texas. Vinson was scheduled to present the research that was handled in India on Tuesday at the meeting of the American Chemical Society in New Orleans. Studies presented at the conference are often not fully peer-reviewed.

In the recent study, Vinson analyzed 30 men and women of normal weight and gave them supplements containing 100-400 milligrams of the extract. All doses affected blood sugar positively, with higher doses benefiting the participant more.
