Company Looks to Prove Women Can Benefit from Product

(Food-Beverage-News.Com, June 26, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- The MYOS corporations has been looking for ways to expand their application of muscle-growth supplements for some time. They have sought to expand the use of their products based on fertilized hens eggs with a new clinical trial that will aim to investigate the product's use among the female demographic.

The products, called MYO-T12, is a powder supplement that is made from the egg hooks and has shown to help boost myostatin levels in muscle tissue during use. The myostatin is a natural molecule that develops in the body as part of a feedback loop that lowers muscle growth potential.

“It's a temporary inhibition over a 24 to 48-hour period which helps develop lean muscle,” stated Lindsey Penrose, who sits as vice president of business development at MYOS.

MYOS has stated that plans for a clinical trial of ingredients is to be run at the national contract research organization, and will focus on the use for women between the ages of 18 to 45. The study will specifically evaluate the use of the MYO-T12 in its use as a dietary supplement as it reduces serum myostatin levels in the women. The company expects to see the study get underway by the end of the year.

Earlier studies noted the MYO-T12 product in men. The supplement was used with human subjects while being administered at 10-grams per serving. The results of the study showed an increase in the ability to develop muscle by the subjects.

The company has said that Myostatin suppression has been shown to effectively enhance the muscle growth in individuals during training, recovery, and healing. A new clinical study will help show that the effects are useful for women just like it is for men. The key is to denote whether or not lean muscle is cultivated, as that is often the target type for women to produce during workouts to avoid the bulk look.
