(Food-Beverage-News.Com, August 06, 2013 ) Denver, Colorado -- Habu is one of the most deadly snakes that exist in an island of Okinawa,Japan. A single bite from the snake triggers serious symptoms such as high blood pressure,vomiting,loss of consciousness as well as death.
A number herbs are added to the wine and the snake is put into it. A habu remains in the alcohol until it is purchased and consumed. It is proved that the alcohol kills the poisons of snakes over time.
WittyCuisiner,a Colorado based cooking tool company that sells kitchen metal measuring spoon sets,recently posted an image of a snake in the wine bottle in its Facebook page. It was viewed and shared by a number of followers.
The spokesperson of WittyCuisiner,Evelyn Stewart,says,"In our Facebook page,we share interesting facts and images related to food,drink and cooking. We thought it is not widely known fact and the picture of Japanese wine with a deadly snake in it would get some attention."
There are a couple of reasons why wine manufactures in Okinawa started to create such wine. First,habu is able to live without consuming anything at all for almost 12 months and it can still be very active. Some Okinawa residents believe that having the wine helps them free from disease and stay healthy.
Another reason is that the snake can mate over 20 hours each time,and some men started to think that having the wine would increase their sexual energy. The same image is shared on the company's other social media pages such as Twitter,Google Plus and Pinterest. In Twitter,the link to the Facebook post that shows the image of snake in wine is added to the Tweet.
