(Food-Beverage-News.Com, July 01, 2014 ) New York, New York -- Nutrigift announces they have discovered their competitors may be selling fake yacon syrup. Scott Cortland, Nutrigift's Chief Marketing Office warns, "I have learned of deeply disturbing news. While we were searching for manufacturing partners, we learned that some makers of yacon syrup are selling a fake product. We sent away a dozen yacon samples to our third party lab for analysis. We did this because we did not want to sell a harmful product to our customers. We learned that a lot of the manufacturers offering yacon syrup and yacon supplements are actually selling pure cane sugar. This is unacceptable. A couple of popular TV doctors talked about yacon on their shows recently and promoted it as a natural sweetener which is safe for diabetics. Now, we have a lot of manufacturers selling nothing but pure cane sugar as yacon syrup. This is unacceptable".
Nutrigift wants to warn potential consumers of dangerous and fake yacon syrup being sold. Cortland says, "Sure, we can use this as an opportunity to promote our own high quality product, but this is about more than us. I want to raise awareness of this fake yacon syrup and warn consumers about what is going on here. Make sure you know who you are buying from, because your label could be wrong". Nutrigift realizes that fake yacon syrup will be harmful to diabetics buying yacon syrup. Cortland says, "If you're unsure who you are buying yacon syrup from, then be careful and test it. Do not consume a lot of yacon at once, as there may be a lot of sugar in it".
Nutrigift has sent lab analysis reports back to problematic manufacturers asking for an explanation but has not received a response. Nutrigift will not release the names of problematic manufacturers to the public as they are still awaiting to hear back from them. Nutrigift hopes all fake yacon syrups will be pulled off the shelves fast. Nutrigift wants to confirm that none of the problematic manufacturers are part of their supply chain.
