Nutrigift's Chief Marketing Officer Scott Cortland remarks, "We've decided to decrease the price of our premium, all natural yacon syrup to $24.95 on Amazon and other web outlets. Our physical retail store sellers can set the product to a price they like, however, we are now informing them of a suggested new MSRP of $24.95. There's a lot of other low quality yacon products floating around the web and in stores at lower prices, specifically around the $13-$15 range. You need to be careful, the raw ingredients of yacon syrup are very expensive and it's not possible to make a genuine yacon product and sell it at this low price point. If it were possible, we would already be doing it".
Nutrigift warns about the dangers of fake yacon syrup, especially to diabetics and those interested in the product for weight loss purposes. "If you want to lose weight with yacon, don't bother with fake or low quality brands. They often contain nothing but cane sugar and inexpensive fillers and binders. What you are buying could taste good, but be harming your body and weight loss plans", said Cortland.
Nutrigift lowered their price due to supply chain optimizations the company completed over the last few months. Nutrigift's increased yacon sales allows them to buy the raw ingredients in bulk at a cheaper rate. The economy of scale works in Nutrigift's favor when they buy raw ingredients in larger quantities since it allows them to make their product cheaper and sell it at a lower price. Nutrigift uses yacon sourced from Peru to create their products. The company plans to lower their prices again in the near future.
