(Food-Beverage-News.Com, October 29, 2014 ) Vancouver, BC -- Goblins and ghouls in the retail marketplace have given a surprise boost to HellFire BBQ, the company announced today. Heat resistant gloves do not normally form part of the traditional Halloween costume craze that builds rapidly and briefly each season. However, the firm's dark black gloves with orange flames, along with the imprinted word "Hellfire", have apparently been popular enough this season to provide a noticeable bump in sales, according to a spokesperson.
"We saw a surprising spike in retail sales recently," said Robert Blackmore, founder of HellFire BBQ. "Customers have mentioned using them as part of a costume, and also simply as Halloween gifts for barbecue lovers." Blackmore noted that they did not undertake any specific marketing targeted toward October 31, but would consider doing so next year.
One company employee admitted that he was planning to wear the gloves as part of a Devil-themed costume, which will include a black cape, and latex mask and horns. "Maybe my costume will be even scarier if I come across some burning logs on a fire, or a barbecue and pick up hot coals with my hands," joked Mr. Wilson.
However, Blackmore says he is looking beyond Halloween already, to the busy Christmas shopping season. He indicated a large production run was currently being finalized. This will allow for the firm's stocks to be replenished before the traditional buying spree begins. "We need to be ready for a huge season ahead," declared Blackmore. "Millions of people love barbecuing and our BBQ and ove gloves are going to be very popular gifts for Christmas 2014." Whether his prediction comes true or not remains to be seen, but for certain there are going to be some rather fearsome costume wearers sporting oven gloves on Halloween weekend.
About HellFire BBQ
HellFire BBQ is a family-run business that works hard to bring high quality, long-lasting, fun products to barbecue lovers. The company's policy is to manufacture with the highest quality materials, and most advanced modern techniques so that products do not break, and end up in landfill sites in a few months. HellFire BBQ has seen far too many discount "BBQ Sets" that would not last one day in Hell, never mind an eternity!
