The awareness program, which includes demonstration videos, social media posts and blog articles, is currently running on the company’s blog and social media sites. The company is also in talk with two local television networks to have the campaign run in their broadcasts.
A video posted on the company's YouTube channel demonstrates the silicone oven mitts being used to turn meat on fire while an article on the company's blog explains the inherent qualities of silicone oven mitts that make them ideal for barbecuing.
"We want our customers to get the best out of our products, and we will continue showcasing innovative uses of our products. Barbecuing meat over red-hot grills requires heavy-duty heat resistant gloves to protect hands and arms. While there are several materials that have conventionally been used to manufacture barbecue mitts, silicone has proven to be the most heat-resistant among them," says Dulce Cocina's managing director, Mr. Mark Henderson.
To prove that silicone is indeed the most heat-resistant material for BBQ mitts, Dulce Cocina conducted an experiment in which they compared the performance of mitts and gloves made of different materials. Mitts made of heavy duty cotton and leather in combination with other hi-tech synthetics gave out in less than 30 seconds while silicone mitts lasted for over one and a half minutes in temperatures of over 446F.
The grilling consumer awareness campaign is the first in a set of product demonstration campaigns that the company has planned to conduct over the course of this festive season. Other scheduled campaigns will showcase the product's use in the preparation of iced martinis and in baking.
The company is also contemplating holding parties in the neighborhood to showcase the use of the silicone oven mitts.
"We will soon announce a date for a large neighborhood party where we will put the gloves in real testing condition. We want this festive season to be more enjoyable and there is no better way of doing it than getting out there and mingling with them in a very festive mood," Mark said.
