Levy discusses that color is just one of the things that a person should consider when baking. She says that colors can add life to any creation and the proper use can surely make a difference. When using color, treat it as one more ingredient that has to be measured correctly. "Take for example roasting food. Others get too scared that they will burn the bacon and would take them out too soon, resulting to bacon that looks very pale for the eyes and the taste buds."

When done, take a little piece from the bottom to taste and if it tastes alright, no one will notice that the cook had doubts, says Levy. Unfortunately, if it does not pass testing then it has to be done over again.
Levy recommends using all the senses when baking and do not just depend on a timer. If a baked creation starts to spread that wonderful smell, it is a sign that it is almost done. If the baked goodie seems to lack color, Levy says increasing the oven temperature while observing them should bring it to perfection. At times, some adjustments must be made and using the different senses can really help Levy says.
