The second box, the "Sharing Box," will include everything in the Individual Box buy will also contain 3 to 4 mini snack packs that contain extra snacks that are easy to share with friends and family, and it will cost $50. The price for both includes shipping.
When asked why they were launching on a crowdfunding site, the co-founders said that they believed that it offered several advantages. "We believe that it's a good platform for finding our first customers and getting the word out about our new service." They go on to add that, "We also think that due to the way crowdfunding works, that it offers a win/win situation for both us and our customers because we are able to offer them discounts on each type of box from either one month and up to a year. While for us, we will be able to gain our first customers and funding that will be used to help us improve our website and services."
Both Robin and Daniel plan to run their campaign on Indiegogo for one month. "We believe that there are many people who are interested in Japanese snacks, and believe that we can find many of these people on Indiegogo." "Unlike similar services, we plan on offering full sized snacks instead of small snacks, and in addition, we hope to expand into other types of monthly boxes such as Japanese collectibles."
Japan Gift Box opened for business on Indiegogo on Monday the 29th and the campaign will run until July 28th. They say that they will ship out their first boxes by the end of every month with the first boxes being shipped out at the end of August.
