The only word from the company came from Marketing Manager Rachel Carder, who released a short statement saying: "Demand for our Meat Injector in Europe has been substantially stronger than we had anticipated which has resulted in a temporary stock shortage. We expect the situation to be resolved in early May". After reviewing Premiala's previous press releases, a trusted industry source noted they launched into the United Kingdom in November 2015 and the EU in February 2016, so the company would have had little data to work on when launching its Europe expansion. "Q4 is always such a busy time for retail that it bears little relationship to normal Q1-Q3 demand", the source said. "Businesses who launch a new product or an existing product into a new market never like to invest too much stock in an untested market, so given Premiala was expanding into four new markets with only their Q4 data from one market to work on, it's easy to see why they would have had little hope of accurately estimating the likely demand".
While no business likes to run out of stock, the strong demand is another positive sign for Premiala, who has previously reported high demand and high customer satisfaction with their Meat Injector. It remains to be seen if the company can scale their supply chain to ensure availability meets demand.
