Kodjo Workout Reveals Foods That Appear to be Healthy but Actually Are Not

(Food-Beverage-News.Com, June 06, 2012 ) New York, USA -- Yes, this article is talking about foods that are rich in preservatives, sugars and more! Rather than these foods, it is best that a person opt for fruits, eggs, fresh meats and vegetables. You should have about 6 small meals per day. If you cannot stay away from junk foods, it is best to eat about 4 junk meals (at most) weekly.

If a you have tried everything--- regular exercise, proper diet and adequate sleep and rest—yet you still haven't seen any results, it is possible that are not really eating healthy. How can this happen, a person might ask? For your information, there are actually foods that appear to be healthy but in reality, they are not! These are the foods to shy away from. If you are not aware of what these foods are, then here are some of the “healthy” foods a person should stop eating:

“Healthy” Foods to Shy Away From

 Granola bars. It is true that granola bars are made of healthy oats and nuts. So, why is this included in this list? You won't have any problems with the oats and nuts but take a closer look at what's holding all these together--- syrups! The most commonly used is corn syrup which has the ability to raise blood sugar levels. Other bars even have some chocolate chips in them. Because of this, they are no different than the candy bars in the market.

 Cereals. Most cereals in the market are labelled healthy. In fact, most cereal products are even recommended for weight loss. However, you should not believe in all this promotional nonsense. What a person needs to do is to check out the product's label. If you look closely, you will find out that these products actually have high sugar and salt content. They may have some nutritional content, but all of it comes from chemicals.

 Yogurt products with Fruits at the Bottom. Most people think that since yogurts are fat-free, it is already considered healthy. Although the yogurt is fat-free, watch out for its sugar contents. The labels of this product will reveal that it has corn syrup, artificial sweeteners and added sugars. For a healthier alternative, opt for plain yogurt and add slices of fresh fruit to it.

 Salads from fast food restaurants. We all know that vegetables salads are nothing but healthy. However, that notion is extremely wrong. Fast food salads actually have sugar-heavy dressings as well as unhealthy croutons.

 Fast food sandwiches. As with salad, most fast foods would label their sandwiches as 'light' and ‘fit’. Sadly, this too has salad dressings that are full of sugar as well as the use of unhealthy white bread. For a healthier alternative, try to make your own sandwiches.

“Healthy” Drinks To Avoid

 Fruit Juices. Even those products that are labeled 100% fruit juice also have added sugars as well as fructose. In fact, most fruit juices actually contain 38g of sugars. Excess fructose in a person’s body can lead to obesity and cholesterol problems.

 Sports Drinks. Most companies would claim that these products are formulated to replenish electrolytes and carbohydrates. But looking closer look at it, it contains nothing but sugar water. In fact, each serving contains about 30g of sugars!

 Diet Soda. Since it claims to be sugar-free, most people think that they will lose weight drinking it. It is true that it does not have any sugars, but it does have artificial sweeteners such as aspartame. Although it will not increase a person’s blood sugar level, it does come with some risks.
