(Food-Beverage-News.Com, June 23, 2012 ) Dallas, Texas – Diet Plans That Get Results advised its visitors to consume sugar in moderation if feasible. A study published by a leading U.S. university suggested that a diet consistently high in fructose could impede memory, learning, and cognition.
“We have always cautioned against consuming sugar in excess and this study serves as a reminder, so to speak,” said Diet Plans That Get Results owner K. Chatman.
Mr. Chatman pointed out that high-fructose corn syrup is a common ingredient in soda, candy, condiments, and other processed food and beverages. The average American consumes 18 kilograms of high-fructose corn syrup every year, according to the US Department of Agriculture.
Mr. Chatman agreed with the study’s recommendations on consuming omega-3 fatty acids. “Omega-3 fatty acids are believed to be significant for brain performance and memory. These essential fatty acids could also lower the risk of heart disease, cancer, and other related medical conditions,” Mr. Chatman said.
“So try to eat more fish, nuts, and other food items that contain omega-3 fatty acids; as long as it is aligned with your diets for weight loss meal plan. If possible, try to eat fish at least twice a week. To help counter the desire for sweets, also add colorful fruits and veggies,” K. Chatman later added.
While nuts are generally good for the body, too much of them can pile up one’s caloric intake. Thus, Mr. Chatman recommended buying nuts in a single-serving pack. He also advised those looking to lose weight not to eliminate nuts and/or other kinds of protein. Lean sources of protein help people become full longer and help build muscles, which magnifies the weight-reducing benefits of exercise.
