(Food-Beverage-News.Com, September 12, 2014 ) Falls Church, VA -- Firelight Gourmet, a manufacturer of BBQ, grilling, and other outdoor living products, has just published another new recipe on their website. Firelight Gourmet invites their readers to "Add some exotic flare to their dinner by making these Greek Turkey Burgers the next time they grill."
"This recipe is one of our customer's favorites", said Matt Beyea, one of Firelight Gourmet's founders, "it is extremely tasty and flavorful, yet still healthy and low calorie."
The recipe is as follows:
Ingredients
• 1 pound ground turkey (as lean as possible) • 2 ounces feta cheese • 1 teaspoon oregano • ½ teaspoon garlic powder • ½ teaspoon salt • 4 cups baby spinach leaves • 1 cup chopped red bell pepper • 4 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
Directions
1) Pre-heat the grill to high heat for at least 10 minutes. 2) Chop up 2 cups of the baby spinach, and then set aside the other 2 cups for later use. 3) Mix the 2 cups chopped spinach, lean turkey, feta, chopped red pepper, oil, and seasonings together in a mixing bowl. 4) Form the mixture into 6 equally sized patties. Do not pack the patties too tightly. 5) Place a non-stick bbq grill mat on grill. The grill mat prevents the turkey burgers from sticking to the grill and keeps them moist during cooking. 6) Grill the burgers 3-4 minutes per side, don't overcook or the turkey will tend to dry out. 7) Serve burgers either in a pita pocket, or on a hamburger bun. Top them with the remaining baby spinach.
To help their readers cook this recipe and many other recipes on the grill, Firelight Gourmet is offering their Non-Stick BBQ Grill mats for sale at Amazon.com.
