These products are known for their non-stick surface that requires little or even no greasing at all prior to use. However, not most people would easily give up traditional metal pans for fear of not having the same results with the silicone muffin pans.
Chris Moal, Mister Kitchenware Spokesperson shares some tips when baking muffins with the help of silicone muffin pans.
"For moist and tender muffins, one of the key ideas here is to mix all dry ingredients first in a large mixing bowl. You then have to make a well in the middle of your mixture. On another bowl, combine all liquid ingredients and pour them altogether into your well," Moal explains.
Stir the mixture for only up to 15 strokes. Overmixing will make the muffins filled with wells and tunnels. Batter should still be lumpy at this point says Moal.
Before placing the batter on the silicone muffin cups, lightly spray some oil or you may skip this part and proceed to placing the batter immediately after mixing. Fill the cups only according to the recipe's instructions. "If you do not have enough batter to fill all the muffin cups, fill empty cups with a little amount of water before popping the pan into the oven to help protect the pan," Moal warns.
Muffins are cooked when the top turns golden. "In order to avoid making soggy muffins, cool the muffins in the baking pan according to instructions," Moal adds.
