Eating Dirt (Fulvic Acid) Can Be Healthy Says Natural Health Sherpa

(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 09, 2012 ) Wilmington, NC – Humus has been used by farmers to make their crops healthier. Today, Natural Health Sherpa is saying that fulvic acid naturally found in humus has many health benefits including keeping the body hydrated, boosting the immune system, and even fighting cancer cells.
The terms humic acid and fulvic acid are often used interchangeably but “they are in fact different molecules” says Natural Health Sherpa. It continues, “when in an alkaline solution, both fulvic and humic acid dissolve. But when they are placed in an acidic solution, only humic dissolves. Fulvic remains intact.”

Fulvic Acid Benefits

According to the website, fulvic acid has 77 macro and trace minerals. These minerals are often found in ionic form. Because of this, they are effective at electro-conductivity as well as in helping absorption. In the soil, these ionic minerals aid in keeping moisture. In plants, fulvic acid helps in the bioavailability of minerals. In the human body, fulvic acid can also help in hydration and bioavailability of minerals. This, in turn, helps the cardiovascular system get its needed minerals.

The website goes on and quotes a study where rats were fed with humic acid or fulvic acid for 26 days. Both acids helped the immune response as early as 14 days. Another study quoted showed that humic acid can effectively fight T lymphoblastic leukemia cells.

Fulvic Acid Side Effects

While there are no observed fulvic side effects observed in human studies yet, some groups of mice in lab tests exhibited “increases in thyroid-stimulating hormone, and decrease in the T3/T4 ratio. This indicates a hypothyroid state.” These side effects were observed in mice when they were administered with high doses.

About Natural Health Sherpa:

Natural Health Sherpa provides in-depth, science-based, independent reviews of natural health therapies and natural remedies that have been proven to be both safe and effective and are backed by good science -- multiple double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized studies.

Unfortunately, there are many charlatans making bogus, unfounded claims in the natural health area, so the goal is to separate fact from fiction to pinpoint what actually works.
