Healthy Eating With Ease Challenges Its Readers To Consume More Healthy Snacks

(Food-Beverage-News.Com, June 23, 2012 ) Dallas Texas – Healthy Eating With Ease understands that summer for most has begun and it could be tempting to consume less than ideal food.

Beachgoers and homebodies alike should continue to moderate their intake of high-calorie, oily snacks (if feasible) the website said. This resource also recommends snacks, including the healthiest fast food choices that consist of protein and produce and do not exceed a certain amount of calories.

“Snacking in itself is healthy as it complements meals and stabilizes energy throughout the day. The less hungry a person is, the better his or her ability to manage portions and avoid overeating during meals,” Mr. Chatman, owner of Healthy Eating with Ease, said.

“But be careful not to use snacks or in-between meals as excuses to eat unhealthy food,” he later added.

Healthy Eating with Ease has highlighted several healthy snacks on its website. Not surprisingly, fruits and vegetables were part of these recommendations.

“Loaded with fiber for good digestion, vegetables can be sliced into bite-sizes, frozen, and dipped. Good choices include carrot, cucumber, or celery sticks. Those averse to cutting and slicing may want corn and peas instead. Tomatoes may be taken as juice,” said K. Chatman.

Fruits rich in vitamins and minerals can be mixed with vegetables, cut into sticks, frozen into bars, or eaten whole. Apples are commendable but berries, grapes, melon, peaches and pears are also good. Blueberries, known for their antioxidants, may be mixed with plain low fat yogurt for a tasty treat.

Nuts also have good antioxidant content, along with fiber, protein and omega-3 fatty acids. Recommended varieties include unsalted almonds, cashews, macadamias, pecans, pistachios, and walnuts. Alternatively, one may snack on a few tablespoons of peanut butter.

Potato chip eaters may switch to soy chips, which are low in fat and full of protein and fiber.

“Just because a person chooses to balance his or her diet does not mean this individual should make drastic changes. Dieting merely means making healthier but otherwise delicious choices,” Chatman said.
